Angelina Jolie in Atlas Shrugged Movie

Angelina Jolie in Atlas Shrugged Movie | Progressive U:
"I think the fact that this movie is being made is a great step forward for the movie industry and the world as a whole.Angelina Jolie seems like a bad choice to play Dagny Taggart, seeing as she does not hold the virtue of individualism or 'selfishness', as Rand wrote about in The Virtue of Selfishness. Selfishness here is not meant to portray the act of being completely indifferent to makind, as that is not at all the intent of the wording. Selfishness implies that one should live for oneself and try to achieve ones goals, without the encompassing conflict of societal restrictions or demands.

Any more, too many people, including Jolie, allow themselves to be subject to the restrictions of society, and what society tells them they should be, or how they should act, or who they should give money to, or any of these things. If Jolie was to be a real life depiction of anything that Rand wrote about, she would not be for all of the government intervention in everday life that she so embodies and pushes for. All in all, Angelina Jolie is one of the worst choices for the role of Dagny Taggart. The ultimate solution to this problem is for the movie to not be made, especially seeing the acting talent in Hollywood and the world today, and the amount of anti-individualist sentiment embodied"
