"Nicole Kidman’s new movie ‘The Golden Compass’, has infuriated Christian groups - who fear it will promote atheism to children. Nicole Kidman, who is married to country singer Keith Urban and a Catholic herself, stars in the movie adaptation of outspoken atheist Philip Pullman’s first novel in the ‘His Dark Materials’ trilogy which many critics believe tells the story of a girl on a quest to kill God. The president of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue, said: “These books denigrate Christianity, thrash the Catholic Church and sell the virtues of atheism."
