Home school group builds winning robot

Tri-City Tribune Online:
"A group of talented youngsters from the CHEF Home School Group of Lepanto recently built a robot that placed second in the Mid-South BEST overall competition.

The CHEF team of Jared and Jonathan Jennings of Lepanto, Kade and Kolby Stokes of Wilson, Audrey and Kyle Cochran of Dyess, Philip Warren of Marion and Bradley Nielsen of West Memphis were given grant funs to purchase supplies to build the robot.

The BEST (Boosting, Engineering, Science, Technology) is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science and technology through participation in a sports-like science and engineering-based robotics competition. Participating students are from schools, home school groups and organizations such as scouts and 4-H Clubs."
