Ayn Rand Birthday

I received this email from the Atlas Society today -

If Ayn Rand had lived to see her 106th birthday, she no doubt would have been gratified by the surge in popularity of Atlas Shrugged as well as the approach of the premiere of Part 1 of the movie trilogy of her magnum opus.

One reason for that surge is her prophetic insights concerning what happens to a society in which government seeks to control every aspect of our lives, expropriate every penny of our productive efforts, and instill guilt for our every virtuous and fulfilling act of rational self-interest. These days, just reading the news gives rise to the exclamation: “It’s like something out of Atlas Shrugged.”
