For-profit Founders College now pursues Southside location

For-profit Founders College now pursues Southside location:
"A private, for-profit school that originally planned to open near Lynchburg said Friday it's now setting its sights on Southside Virginia after Campbell County planners recommended rejecting the school's request to rezone an 1,100-acre estate for its campus.

The county planning commission this week recommended denying the college's efforts to rezone the Merritt Hutchinson Estate, a property in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains listed at $12 million.

The group behind the planned school, Founders College Education Inc., now says it intends to buy Berry Hill Plantation, a 660-acre resort in South Boston, and still intends to open the school next fall. It hopes to have 140 students when it opens and 700 students within five years.
