Many years ago I had the honor of meeting Mr Doohan. I was involved in the video distribution business at the time. We were having an Open House promotion and "Scotty" spent several hours in our facility meeting staff and customers. He was a very approachable and friendly man who, in my experience, seemed to have great interest in being accessible to fans of the Star Trek show and movies.

I met James Doohan once during a primere of one of the Star Trek movies in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a very kind man with a great sense of humor.
