Politicians can’t police themselves, so term limits are needed

Desert Dispatch:
"Politicians can’t police themselves, so term limits are needed

This as nothing to do with political party. Jerry Lewis, our representative in the House, has just been elected to his 15th term. That’s 28 years as a politician serving himself, and not those who have voted him into office.

Our Founding Fathers, men like George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were popular presidents in their time and were wanted by the voters to serve longer. They “chose” to step down as they were opposed to that form of government. They had a belief that when a person was elected to serve the country, it wouldn’t become a career."
